McPhee has compiled an excellent reference guide to sensory activities. The activities are grouped by each of the senses, but many of them are multisensory. The book need not be read cover to cover but can be referred to as needed.
I have personally used many of these suggestions such as the sensory table, creamy sand, creepy crawly sensory bin, rain shakers, and scented dough. While these activities are highly recommended for children with sensory processing disorder and children on the autism spectrum, any child will enjoy using them.
Recommended to special educators, speech therapists, physical and occupational therapists, and parents whenever they want to enrich a child’s awareness of the world around him.
